There are many established frameworks that can describe and categorize a mediation participant’s communications and the way in which they are likely to understand the mediation or classroom experience. A few frameworks, such as the Gregorc Style Delineator, lend themselves to rapid assessment of a participant’s preferred communication style, as well as the manner in which they best understand concepts. By utilizing communication techniques that match a participant’s native style, the trainer or mediator can maximize the chances of all parties understanding important concepts, as well as the feelings of other participants.
