B9, Addressing Societal Transformation by Shariff Abdullah

The Unity Urban Ministerial School sponsored a meeting at the 2015 Unity People’s Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on how to address the unrest in the United States in urban communities through using the principles of Unity.  The heart-centered discussion during that meeting brought about many excellent suggestions and also revealed an opportunity to nurture healing and increase diversity within our own congregations and community.  Join us as the discussion continues in 2016, to further explore ways in which we can lead the world in healing racism and injustice, through practical, committed steps toward healing our own thoughts and being Unity in our movement, while teaching Unity principles to the world.

Shariff Abdullah, J.D., is a consultant, speaker, author and advocate for societal transformation.  His life vision and mission are simple:  we can create a world that works for all beings.  Shariff believes we must release the status quo and transform our dysfunctional political, economic and social/cultural systems and structures.  Shariff promotes heart-felt inclusivity, compassionate dialog, and a society based on visionary, localized and alternative economics and politics. Shariff’s work is practical, visionary, and also infused with a spiritual aspect that inspires participants to dig deep and aim high.

Using his experiences as a lawyer, an activist, a world-traveler and a student of many wisdom traditions, Sharif offers a combination of timeless wisdom and practical advice in:
